As a member of the Palana Team, you will be part of a new, dynamic and fast-growing advisory company which focuses on delivering high quality advice and services to Asset & Wealth Managers and Asset Servicers. We cover the various asset classes across vanilla, private equity, real estate and infrastructure products.
You will support the market leaders on AML/CTF rules and regulations, especially in Luxembourg and across the EU. Your insights will be key to keeping them compliant and secure. As a member of the Palana RC services team you will assist the RCs in daily operations, oversee ongoing client activities/tasks and act as the primary point of contact for client services and delivery management on a continuous basis. As you grow into the role, take on the RC role yourself for some liquid or alternative funds.
The constantly evolving regulatory framework and the harmonisation of the financial markets in Europe provides ongoing challenges for industry actors and are a hotspot for quick learning and personal development. As a Senior Consultant/Assistant Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for our clients when it comes to AML/CTF RC or compliance questions, helping asset managers navigate the complex regulatory landscape within a team of very experienced professionals.
This position is both creative and rigorous by nature as you will be involved within a start-up advisory business where everything is possible, whilst servicing the most reputed clients on technical and complex regulatory matters. You need to think outside the box, to be proactive and have a "get it done" spirit. To be successful, you will have solid problem-solving skills and a large learning appetite.

Responsibilities
- Assisting the RC’s in daily operations and over time take on the RC role for our Clients’ funds
- Creating and updating AML/CTF policies, risk appetite statements, own risk assessments
- Executing controls in the RC AML/CTF monitoring plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Diving into investors and investments due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) processes, ensuring every box is ticked, including sanctions checks and beneficial ownership
- Carrying out name screening and adverse media screening for clients
- Performing AML/CTF due diligence and oversight activities on service providers and delegates
- Performing KYA activities (by collecting and analysing information, data and documents and maintaining them up-to-date)
- Overseeing ongoing client activities and acting as as the primary point of contact for client services and delivery management on a continuous basis
- Building strong relationships with clients

Must Have
- Bachelor/Master's Degree or Higher in Finance, Business, Law or similar
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in financial crime, compliance or regulatory roles working within asset management or financial services
- Strong knowledge of the Luxembourg regulatory framework (e.g. Luxembourg’s AML law, CSSF circulars, FATF guidelines, and EU directives (4th/5th AMLD, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the capability to break down and communicate complex tasks in a straightforward, practical way
- Technology savviness: comfortable with digital tools and eager to learn and adapt to new tech that makes AML/CTF processes more efficient
- Expert in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Perfect written English and communication as well as presentation skills
- You have a proactive, "can-do" attitude and thrive on taking ownership to see tasks through to completion
- Organisational Capacity managing tasks and deadlines in a structured and efficient way
- You bring a collaborative spirit, always ready to support your teammates and contribute to collective success
- Valid work permit for Luxembourg
