Director RC and KYA/KYC Operations

As a member of the Palana Team, you will be part of a new, dynamic and fast-growing advisory company which focuses on delivering high quality advice and services to Asset & Wealth Managers and Asset Servicers. We cover the various asset classes across vanilla, private equity, real estate and infrastructure products.


You will support the market leaders on AML/CTF rules and regulations, especially in Luxembourg and across the EU. Your insights will be key to keeping them compliant and secure. As a member of the Palana team you will lead effort to develop the business of the company, help the company grow and adapt its service offer as the market evolves, help consolidate the adequate pipeline of talents to ensure an quality of service for our clients. Depending on the business needs, you may be required to take the RC role, supported by the operational RC Services team. 


The constantly evolving regulatory framework and the harmonisation of the financial markets in Europe provides ongoing challenges for industry actors and are a hotspot for quick learning and personal development. As a Director you will be part of the Senior Leadership team and are expected to grow our business and contribute to shaping it for the future.


This position is both creative and rigorous by nature as you will be involved within a start-up advisory business where everything is possible, whilst servicing the most reputed clients on technical and complex regulatory matters. You need to lead with vision, think outside the box, to be proactive and have a "get it done" spirit. 


To be successful, you will have solid network in Luxembourg and beyond, a vision of the Financial markets needs in Luxembourg and internationally and robust technical knowledge in AML/CFT space as well as broader governance matters. Responsibilities

  • Grow the firm business across the range as well as contribute to existing business retention 
  • Expand wherever possible the visibility of the brand as well as come with new ideas for medium to long term strategy shaping
  • Be a senior representative of the company for clients, business partners and teams
  • Be close to the financial sector in Luxembourg and internationally in order to adapt the company strategy to the industry fast evolving needs
  • Support the team with robust knowledge in AML/CFT space
  • Overseeing ongoing client activities and acting as  as the primary point of contact for client services and delivery management on a continuous basis

Must Have

  • Bachelor/Master's Degree or Higher in Finance, Business, Law or similar
  • 25+ years experience in senior role in the asset management sector
  • Strong knowledge of the Luxembourg regulatory framework (e.g. Luxembourg’s AML law, CSSF circulars, FATF guidelines, and EU directives (4th/5th AMLD, etc.)
  • Technology savviness:  comfortable with digital tools and eager to learn and adapt to new tech that makes AML/CTF processes more efficient
  • Perfect written English and communication as well as presentation skills
  • A proven track record in the advisory space
  • Strong networking and sales skills, including proven ability to be alert to clients and markets needs
  • You bring a collaborative spirit, always ready to support your teammates and contribute to collective success
  • Valid work permit for Luxembourg
