As a member of the Palana Team, you’ll join a dynamic, fast-growing firm delivering high-quality advice and services to Asset & Wealth Managers and Asset Servicers across vanilla, private equity, real estate and infrastructure products.
In this Senior full-stack Java developer role, you’ll join our Development team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable applications supporting large-scale regulatory reporting and data processing, including tens of thousands of reports delivered annually across multiple jurisdictions.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, data, and regulation. You will contribute to the full software lifecycle, from architecture and development to testing and deployment, while ensuring robustness, performance, and maintainability of our platforms.

What you’ll bring
- Solid experience in Java development (Java 17+), including Spring / Spring Boot frameworks
- Good understanding of relational databases (SQL), data modelling principles, and familiarity with enterprise database systems such as Oracle
- Exposure to reporting or data platforms (e.g. Jasper or similar tools)
- Strong experience in front-end technologies (Angular or similar)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS (EC2, RDS, CloudFormation)
- Experience working in structured environments with production constraints and delivery deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (data, operations, product)
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
- English mandatory; French preferred
AI-enabled engineering (day-to-day practice)
- Use coding agent mode and MCP-based tooling to accelerate development, testing, and investigation workflows
- Apply AI tools pragmatically in debugging, test generation, documentation, and data investigation
- Evaluate and test new AI capabilities from leading global AI platforms to improve engineering productivity and code quality
- Contribute to continuous assessment of emerging AI practices, including sovereign frontier AI where relevant
- Ensure responsible and controlled usage of AI within development and client data constraints
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications supporting regulatory and operational processes
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions
- Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and adherence to engineering standards
- Collaborate with data, operations, and client-facing teams to deliver robust solutions
- Own services in production, with responsibility for reliability and performance
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tooling
Must Have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 4–8 years of experience in Java full-stack development
- Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and modern front-end frameworks
- Experience with SQL databases
- Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Autonomous, structured, and delivery-oriented mindset
- Valid work authorization for Luxembourg
Nice to have
- Experience in financial services, ideally in investment funds or regulatory reporting
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or similar)
- Knowledge of large-scale data systems
- Additional languages alytical skills
