As Director, AML/CTF & Financial Crime Compliance, you will define and drive the strategic direction of Palana's financial crime practice. You will combine recognised subject-matter expertise with strong leadership and business development capabilities, owning senior client relationships, shaping the firm's positioning on financial crime matters and building a high-performing team around you.
This role is for a practitioner who has operated at the highest level of the Luxembourg compliance landscape, someone who understands the regulatory expectations of the CSSF, FIU and AED not just technically, but strategically, and who can translate that authority into value for Palana's clients.
As a member of the leadership team, you will help drive the continued development of the practice while mentoring teams and contributing to the long-term success of the firm.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the strategic direction of Palana's AML/CTF & Financial Crime Compliance practice, aligned with the firm's wider objectives
- Represent Palana with clients, business partners and industry stakeholders
- Contribute to the firm's strategic development and help shape the evolution of its service offering
- Provide senior guidance on AML/CTF, governance and regulatory matters across client engagements

Oversee corporate risk management frameworks for clients; identification, assessment, quantification and annual regulatory reporting
- Mentor and support teams while contributing to the development of future leaders within the practice
Must Have
- 15+ years of experience in asset management, financial services or a related advisory environment
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Law or a related field
- Strong knowledge of the Luxembourg AML/CTF and regulatory framework (AML Law, CSSF Circulars, FATF recommendations and EU Directives)

Proven experience as an approved RC (CSSF) within a ManCo, AIFM or equivalent regulated entity

Established presence in the Luxembourg compliance community active contribution to industry knowledge through publications, training programmes or professional associations
- Strong leadership capabilities, commercial mindset and valid right to work in Luxembourg
- Fluent English and French; additional languages an asset
Nice to have

Experience in supervisory review processes (SREP) or cross-border regulatory frameworks
- House of Training RC Capacity certificate held; ACOI, ICA or ACAMS held; ALCO membership or equivalent senior accreditation
- Project management experience
- Strong understanding of market trends and evolving regulatory challenges
